Collect Call From: London. Will You Accept The Charges?

Artist: The Clash
Album: London Calling
Genre: Rock, Punk rock, Pop music, Reggae, Jazz, New wave, Rock and roll, Post-punk, Ska, Rockabilly
Release date: December 14, 1979

Description: You have a collect call from London. Will you accept the charges from this third studio release from The Clash? This album featured 3 singles including London Calling, Clampdown, and Train In Vain. London Calling was a big expressive album for the group. They used this album to show their interest in other genres outside of their punk stylings. This included Pop music, Reggae, Jazz, New wave, Rock and roll, Post-punk, Ska, Rockabilly and more. The album was in the top 10 for UK charts and sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

Favorite Track: Train In Vain (Stand By Me)

Reason: with an upbeat attitude and fun lyrics, who wouldn't love this hit single? The instrumentals are fun to listen and play along to as well. I grew up with my parents.playing this hit from time to time and remember the fond memories while listening to it.

Album Rating: 9.0/10

I really love this third release from The Clash. With it's many upbeat punk rhythms and exploration into new musical genres, this record shows a more expressive side of the group and opens the listener to more to explore!
