Holy long album: Songs in the key of life review

Artist: Stevie Wonder
Album: Songs in the key of life
Genre: Pop, instrumental, jazz, rythym and blues, Funk, soul, afrobeat, experimental music
Relased: September 28th, 1976

First impressions: A nice mix of slower songs and faster songs. Steve's lyrics showcase a lot of good storytelling as well.
Favorite song: I wish
The beat alone is good and the lyricism is good as well. A second best for me would be Sir drake just for the beat alone.
Overall score: 9/10
Stevie Wonder is an artist that never gets old to me. He has great songs like inst she lovely and superstitious but there are some hidden gems in this album too.

Imagine: An Album By John Lennon Review

Artist: John Lennon
Album: Imagine
Genre: Rock, Soft rock, Blues rock, Art rock
Relased: September 9, 1971

Description: "Lush," quite possibly the best word to describe this album. As the second studio album by John, it complete contrasts his first album he released solo. Like the name of the album, the title track is indeed his signature song as an artist. This album hit number one on the UK and US charts.

Favorite track: I Don't Want Yo Be A Soldier

Reason: It's Lyrics (or lack of many) make this a very unique song. While listening to the song I could really understand the use of the "Phil Spector Wall Of Sound" in this track. Much like Lennon's lyrics on I Want You (She's So Heavy) the minimal lyrics approach is a very unique approach. It really makes a unique instrumental approach as well.

Album rating: 6.8/10

Although by a member of my favorite band ever, I never really latched onto this album as much as I did with The Beatles. The album was very heavy on the "lush" feeling. I love Imagine and the above obvious, but that's about it.

Hotel California review

Artist: The Eagles
Album: Hotel California
Genre: Rock, Country rock, Hard rock, Soft rock, Folk rock
Relased: December 8th 1976

First impressions: the eagles are a great band, and this album is very good to have on in the background when doing something. The smoothness of the beats mixed with the storytelling lyrics make this a nice album
Favorite song: New kid in town
A fun song about first love with the new kid in town.  The lyrics paint a nice picture of just falling in love the first time.
Overall score: 8/10
I am a sucker for music so any album I will listen to at least once

Imagine a great album: John Lennon Imagine review

Artist: John Lennon
Album: Imagine
Genre: Rock, Soft rock, Blues rock, Art rock
Relased: September 9, 1971

First impressions:
A nice and relaxing album in my opinion, not the greatest album in the world but a nice one.
Favorite song: Imagine, it is so iconic that it is my favorite. The soft piano opening mixed with John's vocals made this an excellent album.

Overall score: 6/10
It was an okay album, the only good song in my opinion was Imagine. The rest of the album however was alright and there wasn't a whole lot memorable.

This Album Makes Me Feel So Young. A Songs For Swingin' Lovers Review.

Artist: Frank Sanatra
Album: Songs for Swinging Lovers
Genre: Jazz, Swing music, Traditional pop, Vocal jazz
Relased: March 6, 1956

Description: The tenth album for Sinatra, It was arranged by Nelson Riddle and the first to hit the top of the UK charts. This album was different from his last. It leans heavy on covers of pop songs in a more upbeat, jazzy, and fast-paced style.

Favorite Track: Love Is Here To Stay
Reason: A wonderful trumpet solo in this piece, along with a great theme in the lyrics, draw me to the song. It's more about the theme of time passing on and fads fading away, while the love of the main character and is significant other never dying that I love. I feel that in my own relationship as well.

Album Rating: 8.0/10

I like jazz a lot. I do love a good jazz album, This is a great album. This collection of reimagined pop songs is wonderful. I will say however, that this album is very similar across the board. The songs are catchy, but it is a very simple jazz record. I get why people love having popular songs re-done in a jazz style seems new and hip. I still love this album and will always like listening to it, but it isn't my favorite jazz record of all time.

In No Way Is This Album "TAME." : A Picxies Doolittle Review

Artist: The Pixies
Album: Doolittle
Genre: Alternative rock, Indie rock, Noise pop
Relased: April 7, 1989

Description: This is the 2nd studio album from The Pixies. This album featured many songs such as Here Comes Your Man, Monkey Gone To Heaven, and Debaser. Later, the song Wave of Mutilation would go on to introduce a new generation to The Pixies in the extremely successful “Create Your Own Band” music video game series Rock Band. This release has since gone on to become Platinum as of 2018. Often seen as a very “accessible” album, this was always their most successful record to date.

Favorite Track: La La Love You

Reason: The songs kicks off with a groove drum beat. Then you get that great Reverb/Chorus heavy guitar solo. The bass line is very simple, yet drives the song along. I got to hand it to the little whistling line in the middle as well. This song is very much a performance piece for the guitar. The song has a very groovy alt. chill vibe in the solo in the beginning.  Overall this short yet extremely fun song is a must on this album.

Rating: 8.9/10

I really to like the fact that with its many tracks, this album is still a fast listen. It goes by real quick, but is a blast from the past that I can't stop listening to. The opening track, Debaser is such a fun one. I feel like Paul Rudd in This Is 40 when it starts. I can't help but agree with his character when I tell people how good The Pixies are. The Alt/Indie feel they throw at you is expressive. It gets you in a groovy rock out vibe that keeps you going with every song. This is an album that will keep selling and being played for years to come.
